Ministry Overview

Their vision for the Philippines is to establish The Shepherd's Institute (TSI). This institute will specialize in training men to plant churches and in mobilizing and financially supporting these church planters. TSI graduates will plant churches in the Philippines, throughout Southeast Asia, and in Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Based in the Philippines, TSI will seek to be a launching pad for the planting of hundreds of churches in the coming years.

It is their prayer to raise the funds to purchase about 5 acres of land in the province of Laguna, which is south of Metro Manila. This land will be the future home of TSI, which will consist of a training center, offices, a library, dorms, and a church. The Evangelical Free Church of America and the Evangelical Free Church of the Philippines have targeted this region for several reasons. First, an expressway has been built that runs from Manila through Santo Tomas. Second, 4 to 5 million people are expected to move into this area in the next several years and the population will continue to grow due to the large number of international businesses that are moving there. This migration of people will create many open hearts to the gospel as new families move into this area.

Because of the great need for the gospel to be preached and the large number of people moving to Batangas, solid churches need to be planted. Cults, false teachers, and inadequately trained brothers are already working hard to plant churches in this area. TSI will offer the church a chance to take action and meet this need by launching a solid, biblically-based church planting movement that goes beyond a single missionary planting a few churches during his lifetime. They envision hundreds of trained men planting thousands of churches.

Prayer Requests

Pray that their training center will be a part of The Master’s Academy International (TMAI) and that God would use that association to bless and enhance their ministry.

Pray for more partners for their team to help them train, send, and support Filipino ministers throughout the world.

Pray that the Lord will build up their support level as they are currently below target by 20% each month.

Pray that their kids will thrive on the field and that God will put great burdens on their hearts to serve Him with their lives.
