Ministry Overview
In 1996, after having completed ten years in Paris finishing a church plant, God opened the door for them to return to John's hometown, Geneva, Switzerland.
John is currently pastoring a Swiss "church planting" church. It has spawned five churches in France, three since they have been there. All 5 church plants have French or Swiss pastors and 2 of these still enjoy missionary help. The mother church has continued to grow, despite these offshoots.
John's main ministry is French expository preaching, a novelty in French-speaking Europe. John has reworked the church's worship service, which along with the expository preaching, has produced consistent growth. It is really thrilling!
John received a call from Hockey Ministries International wanting to know if he would volunteer to be the chaplain of the Geneva-Servette team. After much thought and prayer, he accepted. The chapels John has every other week are attended by 2-5 players.
Special Prayer Requests
- Please pray that the church problems they have been experiencing for the last two years would come to an end soon, and that those who need to repent, would.
- Pray for more helpers to consider missions in needy France and church planting amongst Muslims.
- Pray for the Rhones-Alps 2010 Project, which strives for planting 10 churches, in 10 cities, with 10 couples by 2010, in the Rhones-Alps area of France.
- Pray for Meg, as she holds the ropes in and around the home, and as she gives herself to homeschooling to the pure delight of Kimberly and James.
