Jail Ministry at The Bridge Bible Fellowship

The jail ministry at The Bridge Bible Fellowship exists for the sole purpose of reaching out to inmates with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to provide love, hope and encouragement for those who have been largely forgotten by our society. This ministry has roots that go back to 1984 when a small group of faithful brothers provided church services to inmates at the Wayside Honor Ranch once or twice per month. Since then, it has grown to include two jails in Ventura County and the North County Correctional Facility (NCCF) in Castaic. Over the past two decades we've seen many inmates come to saving faith in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit and the teaching of the Word of God.

Currently, there are twelve faithful volunteers serving in this ministry once per month on a rotation basis. We are always looking for more volunteers to join us at any of these facilities. The greatest need is at the Todd Road Jail and the NCCF. At the present, there are two ladies serving at the Ventura County Main Jail; however, more ladies are needed. Our goal for 2006 is to double the size of our ministry. The application process for becoming a jail ministry volunteer is very simple. Any Bridge Bible Fellowship member in good standing, who is 30 years of age or older is encouraged to contact one of the jail ministry team leaders if he or she senses God's leading to become involved in this important ministry.

Hebrews 13:3  Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
