What is Worship?

Worship is something we are, not something we do. I find it odd that we set apart thirty minutes on any given Sunday morning for “worship” but then fail to live out that worship, the very reason that we were created, the other hundred sixty eight and a half hours during the week.

Here in the Underground, we desire to worship God fully and completely, in spirit and in truth. Worship is truly and entirely about magnifying, exalting, and glorifying God. And in the Underground, that is what we endeavor to do each Sunday morning and Wednesday night. We desire to not merely sing songs with our mouths, but to sing with our hearts and with our very lives.

Our worship is centered around the truth of Scripture and is, in and of itself, a form of preaching the Word of God to our own hearts and minds, in order that we may be renewed and prepared to live out lives of sacrifice, acceptable and pleasing to our Lord (Rom. 12:1-2). It is my desire to see the Underground full of young men and women who embrace the truth of Scripture with their mouths, hearts, and lives, and who constantly live out their praise and worship before a holy and awesome God Who is so deserving of our praises!
