A Message from Steve Lively, Pastor of Worship Ministries

I am blessed to continue the fine work and ministry of those Godly men who have preceded me. Many have laid a great foundation for the heart of worship here and I hope we will continue to grow together and live lives that are "spiritual services of worship" ( Rom.12:1)

A little bit about Steve...

Just in case you haven't heard that much about who I am and where I came from, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior on August 29th, 1969 and have been walking the wonderful journey with Him ever since. I have seen His Hand at work in my life, molding me and leading me into continued knowledge of Him and service to His Kingdom and His people. I am married to Mary for 25 years and we have 2 great kids- James, who is 20 and Laura, who is 17. By God's grace, both of my children are believers and are seeking Him in their own lives. We were members of Grace Baptist Church , Santa Clarita for 25 years, where I served in the Worship Ministry in various capacities. Most recently, I have been the regular Worship leader for the Saturday night services there, as well as the director of the youth worship choirs.

My full time career during that time was as a studio session singer here in Los Angeles and also as a special guest artist and worship leader at various churches and conferences around the country. Over the past few years, I have felt the lord leading me into a more regular role as a Worship Pastor in the local church. We began to seek the Lord's will for this leading and around the same time, began discussions with our dear friends, Pastor Paul and Diane , about the possibility of serving at Shepherd's Community Church. This seemed like the answer we all had been looking for and it also seemed like a perfect fit. Mary and I grew up here in the Valley and we are also very familiar with the great ministry of SCC. In God's perfect timing, on September 5, 2006, I began serving as the Pastor of Worship Ministries at Shepherd's Community Church.  I was honored and excited to be a new part of the staff and fellowship.  It is now my privilege to serve as the worshp pastor for The Bridge Bible Fellowship!  I am in the office Monday through Thursday and would love to have an opportunity to meet you face to face.

An Invitation to Join the Worship Choir

I would like to invite you to be a part of our adult worship choir, which will begin singing regularly in our services twice per month.  It will be a great vehicle for us to serve together and grow in our fellowship and musical ability. The choir meets on Wednesday evenings.  If you have a passion for honoring God with your life and voice and are looking for a place to serve, please set up an appointment for a short interview, so I can get to know you better and hear your voice in order to place you in the appropriate choir section.
