Ministry Overview
David and Julee Schoch have decided, with much prayer and input from many, that they will focus on the Gypsies or Roma people in Tirana, Albania.
The Schochs recently moved to a home that is in the gypsy community hoping to encourage depth in relationships and more opportunity for the gospel to spread. The hope is to see a church started based upon several home cell groups. They are seeking God in prayer to raise up five Gypsy men as core group leaders. Men are not only the strong rule makers in this society, but in an area ravaged by drugs, alcohol and spousal abuse, it is rare to find a decent role model. They hope to be a model of Godliness for them to witness.
Prayer Requests
-
Praise God hearts have been opened up to Him! Pray for more to be open and understand the gospel.
2. Pray for Shefkiu who recently came to Christ, yet still struggles with alcoholism.
3. Pray for Kadriu’s home to be used by God as a haven for neighbors to come and hear the gospel and be saved. Pray for wisdom for Dave and he disciples Kadriu that he might be used as a leader for furthering God's Kingdom among the Roma.
4. Praise God Fatosi, Kadriu’s relative, has shown interest in God. Pray for his salvation.
5. Praise God their finding a home to move into in Gypsy area. Pray that it will be used in hospitality to see many come to know our Savior.
6. Pray for their teammates the Zollingers, as they learn the language. Pray for their advancement to an ability to effectively communicate and be a good complement to the Schochs in the work.
7. Pray for their family’s spiritual health that they would be faithful in their times with the Lord, in prayer and in fellowship. Also, that they would keep times with the Lord, family and work in good balance.
